On 29 November 2020, the Australian Government announced an extension to the HomeBuilder program, with a number of changes to the grant amount and criteria. After December 31 the grant amount decreases to $15,000 and contracts must be signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021, inclusive. Plus, as a first home buyer there are further stamp duty exemptions and concessions available. The Victorian government’s first home buyer exemptions and concessions apply to both established and new/off-the-plan homes. If the dutiable value is of $600,00 or less, you could receive an exemption from having to pay stamp duty. If it’s between $600,001 to $750,000, you could still get a duty concession. First Home Loan Deposit Scheme

The First Home Loan Deposit Scheme allows first home buyers to enter the market sooner by purchasing with a deposit as little as 5% by guaranteeing up to 15% the value of the home, saving you from paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI). More information.
