Active living at Kingslea: all about Meadowlink

21 Sep 2020

A healthy and active lifestyle is easier to maintain if you’re part of a community that provides ample space for outdoor activities. Excitingly, Kingslea Broadmeadows is situated on the forefront of a new, linear park being delivered by the Hume City Council, known as Meadowlink.
Meadowlink, once complete, will be a shared walking and cycling space through Broadmeadows, creating a link between Moonee Ponds Creek in the west and Merlynston Creek in the east.

The Victorian Government is investing $2 million into the initiative, which will see transformation of a former railway into a beautiful, natural space that encourages outdoor activity and community connection. The development’s initial works will connect Railway Crescent to Merlynston Creek via Seabrook Reserve.

The project is expected to deliver the following:
• 3.2km of shared walking and cycling paths
• 400 new trees and 500 new plants
• Seating and opportunities to meet and socialise along the shared path
• New lighting to ensure public safety

As well as enhancing the health and wellbeing of local residents, Meadowlink will also deliver new ecological habitats and improved landscaping.

Residents of Kingslea Broadmeadows will be able to enjoy effortless access to this avenue of greenery, providing boundless opportunities to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.
